This comes on the tails of Vice President Joe Biden’s comments made to Meet The Press. He stated that “I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men marrying women are entitled to the same exact rights,” (Meet The Press). This brought gay marriage back into the news and caused Obama to come out of the support closet. President Obama stated “I’ve always been adamant that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally.” There were no specific plans to legalize gay marriage, but this announcement of policy change is cause for celebration amongst the LGBT community. Or so most would think.
Soon after President Obama’s comments on the controversial social issue many LGBT organizations released statements saying that they “don’t wanna anymore.” “Now that everyone else is supporting it we are going to have to go ahead and decline the offer. You can’t tell us what to do!” shouted one spokeswoman for GLAAD. “It’s my body I’ll do what I want!” shouted another what we’re pretty sure was a man.
Many members of the LGBT community have taken to the streets in protest of Obama’s remarks. The protests have been small and factioned and much better dressed than most other Gay Pride Parades. No word as of yet if glitter got in anyone’s eye. All that is certain right now is how upset the homosexual agenda is in that their have finally caught their Moby Dick. So to speak.
